MDY Healthcare currently holds investments in the following companies:
Stanmore Implants was formed in 1949 and is an innovative orthopaedic business focused on saving and restoring the function of limbs and joints. The company designs, manufactures and markets a custom implant service with a portfolio of orthopaedic implants for limb salvage and complex joint replacement. Stanmore is now a market leader in the UK and has a rapidly expanding presence in export markets, delivered through both direct and distributor sales.Stanmore has recently moved into a new FDA compliant manufacturing facility close to the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, and has a small Continental European sales office in Lyon, France. The Company was spun out as an independent company from UCL's Centre for Biomedical Engineering in 1996. The Centre is known for its design of some of the world's most successful implants including the Stanmore Hip.
MDY Healthcare plc co-led, with Abingworth Management, a syndicate of investors to acquire Stanmore Implants in February 2008. The investor syndicate works closely with Brian Steer who leads Stanmore as Executive Chairman.
Stanmore is targeting annual sales of approximately £6.5 million (unaudited) for 2010.
Trust William, the multi-channel retail joint venture, sells natural healthcare products direct to consumers via the internet (www.trustwilliam.com), mail order and telesales. The aim of the joint venture is to capitalise on the rapid growth of e-commerce in the UK.
Trust William's product range is based around six key natural active ingredients: Aloe Vera, Echinacea, Glucosamine, Manuka Honey, Omega 3 and Tea Tree Oil supplemented by a number of other natural family healthcare products.

MDY Healthcare's investment:
- MDY Healthcare will provide up to £3 million in loan capital. As at 30 September 2009, MDY Healthcare had invested approximately £1.53 million by way of loan finance in Trust William, which is held at cost on MDY Healthcare's balance sheet.
- William Ransom, the JV partner and primary supplier of the natural healthcare products, has the option to acquire 100% ownership in accordance with an agreed timetable and valuation process.
Based in Boulder, Colorado, Medivance is a leading company in the emerging field of therapeutic temperature management. The company's non-invasive technology, Arctic Sun® is patented and FDA approved to rapidly cool patients ("therapeutic hypothermia") and precisely control their temperatures as a therapeutic tool. Therapeutic cooling has been shown to reduce brain damage after traumatic events such as cardiac arrest and brain injury. It also has potential applications in the treatment of stroke and fever. Introduced in 2004, the Arctic Sun® has been adopted by prestigious hospitals throughout the US, Europe and Asia.
Based in Florida, USA, AOI Medical is a developer of novel medical devices intended to treat vertebral compression fractures, extremity fractures, and disorders associated with cervical vertebrae degenerative disease. AOI's products are based on intellectual property owned by the company and the commercial launch of Ascendx TM (Vertebral compression fracture reduction system) is targeted for launch in the US in early 2011. AOI has an experienced management team and a world renowned clinical advisory panel.Vertebral compression fractures are typically treated by kyphoplasty (inflating a balloon inside the vertebrae and replacing the balloon with cement) or vertebroplasty (repairing the fractures of the vertebra externally to the vertebrae) represent a large and growing market. Extremity fixation also represents a large market opportunity and is currently treated by various methods. Cervical degenerative disease involves the degeneration of disk, vertebrae and laminas for a number of reasons and is increasingly being treated by total disk replacement with the next generation of devices targeting facet, nucleus and annulas amongst others.
